"Learn Well, My Fellow Scholars, Learn Well..."

Last Day of National Education Week, 2025. Hope everyone is in splendid stupor and enjoying this weeks Educational Festivities around the country!

A word of, “Good News,” for my fellow scholars, graduates and professionals, From The Lifetime Student Foundation…

“ If you have a spouse, a husband or a wife, a girlfriend or a boyfriend, or you are in a serious relationship, we came up with some numbers that you can use as a goal amount to save, so you can have some money to spend early in your relationship. In simplicity, you and your husband or wife, boyfriend or girlfriend or whatever the circumstance is, be it 16 or 5o years old, are going to have to save $2500 dollars a month for the first 5 years of your marriage or relationship. That’s 25oo dollars a month, from each of you. It comes out to, $5000 a month, $60, 000 dollars a year and in 5 years, you will have saved 300, 000 dollars. Tax Free, All savings guaranteed cash. Your own cash! No Frils..”

“Sometimes when people are in love they do not really care about money, they just want to be with the other person and don’t really care to much about the future. That is, college tuition, kids, marriage, house, cars, tuition for your kids, vacations and most importantly life together with someone. Money is not everything but your going to need it. Especially in a relationship. I feel as though $300, 000 is a chunk of money. Living paycheck to paycheck some people have never had that amount or even half that amount ever in their lives. If you can wait an additional 3 years, you will have $480, thousand. That’s right, A Half a Million Dollars, the first 5 to 8 years of your relationship…All from $2500 a month, (Hahaha)”

“If you are thinking about retiring one day form work or your job does not give you a pension or any retirement supplements, then you could even save $2500 a month yourselves, the last 5 years of work. That way when you finally retire, you will have $300, 000, and whatever else cash you have at that point.”

“If you graduate high school and don’t go to college or if you graduate college one day and still have not found a job utilizing your degree, work anywhere, anyway and begin to save $2500 a month. In 5 years or until you find a job in your particular field of degree, you will still have $300, 000 to play with. Again, $480, 000 (just under a half a million dollars,) in 5 years of graduation. In this day age you can make that as an Uber Driver, grocery or department store or even working at a Starbucks. Does not have to be all that fancy of a job, but you and your partner have to save $2500 dollars a month each for the first 5 years. Saving some money together will also strengthen your relationship and take the stress of not having money in the future off of your minds.

“So, in all simplicity, there is still hope for you, if you don’t do well in school or are not doing well in your everyday life. Just grab your loved one, both of you get jobs and let the money motivate you to save $2500 a month minimum, that’s 5000 a month between both of you, for 5 years. If you do it early in your relationship you won’t have to worry about money later. Again, be it 16 years old or 50 years old just remember these numbers and you will be alright...”

Until next year,

“Learn Well, My fellow Scholars, Learn Well…”

Yours Truly,

Desmond Evan Johnson
